Virginia delegates tell Congress to balance the budget

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — Eighteen state delegates have drafted a bill asking the United States Congress to balance the U.S. budget.

The legislation states the nation’s debt exceeds $16 trillion.

The bill asks Congress to consider amending the U.S. Constitution to end each fiscal session with a balanced budget, something Virginia already does. It also encourages other states to file similar legislation.
