‘Fake Beared Bandit’ caught

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WTVR) — Police in Newport News say they’ve arrested the man believed to be the “Fake Bearded Bandit.”

Ronald Wayne Carr is accused of dodging police for over a year after robbing over two dozens stores at gun point, in the Hampton Roads area.

Police Say he earned the nickname by wearing different types of fake facial hair every time he robbed a store.

About a month ago, a former AutoZone worker in the Hampton Roads area lost his job after he turned the “Fake Bearded Bandit” with his own gun.
