(WTVR) – Here’s something to think about when deciding how to shed the pounds all those holiday treats can pack on.

A new study suggests you may want to stick with aerobics and put the weights down if you’re looking to burn more fat.

Duke researchers found people who combined aerobics with weight training did not shed as many pounds as those who stuck to aerobic exercises like walking, running or swimming.

Previous research has suggested that weight training could increase resting metabolic rates, helping the body shed more pounds.
