(WTVR) – You may want to pay attention to how easy- or difficult- it is for you to get up the next time you’re on the floor, say, for exercise.
Brazilian researchers say it may be a sign of how long you will live.
Researchers asked more than 2,000 men and women ages 51 through 80 to sit on the floor and try get up without using their hands or other body parts for extra support.
They followed the subjects for several years, and found people who had to use more than one limb to support themselves getting up or down were twice as likely to die sooner than those who used only one or no other means of support.
