LIVE: Obama speaks at prayer vigil in Newtown

NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTVR)–President Barack Obama has met with the families of victims and with first responders before this evening’s prayer vigil at Newtown High School.

He landed this afternoon at 4 p.m. to speak with family members and first responders.  President Obama will then attend an interfaith vigil. 

Connecticut’s retiring U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, and Sen.-elect Christopher Murphy are circulating through the Newtown High School Auditorium and speaking with townsfolk assembling there for this evening’s prayer vigil.
