New soda ban in Maryland

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WTVR) — A Maryland county has banned the sale of all sugary drinks on county property and in county buildings.

Administrators in Howard County, just outside of Baltimore, say the ban is aimed at lowering the childhood obesity rate and raising awareness about the health hazard sodas can cause.

Many Howard County schools had already banned sugary drinks in schools.
