POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - A man pleaded guilty to five counts that included breaking and entering, malicious wounding and arson--all part of a violent attack and robbery that left a Powhatan County teacher bloodied and beaten along the side of the road.

In January, James Lee Wolfe, 29, of Amelia, broke into Mary Anderson's Powhatan home, beat her up, took her to an ATM and forced her to withdraw $400. He also set Anderson's home on fire.

Following the attack, Wolfe dumped Anderson on the side of Midlothian Turnpike. She had head injuries, a broken arm and cuts and bruises.

Investigators said Wolfe randomly chose Anderson's house.

Police in Amelia county arrested Wolfe after a Sheetz convenience store clerk gave a description of his car that was caught on surveillance tape.

Wolfe is due back in court in February. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled at that time. He faces four life sentences.
