Police investigate head-on wreck on Courthouse Road

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR) — Police in Chesterfield are investigating a deadly head-on crash that happened Friday afternoon.

Police said the wreck happened around 5 p.m. on Courthouse Road as two vehicles traveling in opposite directions crashed head-on. 

The drivers from the two vehicles were taken to VCU Medical Center. One passenger, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are withholding the identify of the victims until their families are notified.

Officials said drivers should avoid the area of  Providence and Courthouse.
