Former Bishop Walter Sullivan diagnosed with liver cancer

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Walter Sullivan, the former Bishop for the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, has been diagnosed with liver cancer.

Reverend Michael A. Renninger of St. Mary’s Catholic Church made the announcement on Saturday.  He is asking for everyone’s prayers at this time.

Sullivan was the 11th Bishop of Richmond.  He retired to an honorary position in 2003 after 29 years of service.
