RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - The Supreme Court had a chance Friday to decide whether they would hear a series of appeals about gay marriage. They decided to decide next week.

The court can choose to hear one of the multiple cases and make a decision that would dictate the future of gay marriage laws for the country.

Stephen Simon, assistant political science professor at the University of Richmond, stopped by the CBS 6 studios to discuss what the decision could mean for the future of social policy.
