CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Chesterfield Police say a triple shooting on Thanksgiving night was ‘domestic related.” A woman and two children were shot inside their Timsberry Terrance town home.

“As officers pulled up, they heard shots being fired and saw the suspect, Michael D. Williams, outside the residence,” Chesterfield Police Captain Chris Hensley wrote in an email. “A female victim suffering from a gunshot wound then fled the residence. One officer saw Williams aim his gun at the juvenile male victims; the officer fired twice, but did not strike Williams. Shortly thereafter, Williams exited the rear of the residence and was taken into custody by additional officers.”

Police said the woman, who was in a relationship with Williams, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Her sons, ages 16 and 10, suffered life-threatening injuries and are being treated at the hospital. Police said Williams was not related to the children.

Williams is charged with three counts of malicious wounding, three counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, one count of burglary and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling.  He is locked up in the Chesterfield County Jail without bond, police said.

“As in all such cases, the actions of the officer who fired the shots are being reviewed by the Chesterfield County Police Department and Chesterfield County’s Commonwealth’s Attorney,” Captain Hensley said.
