Player scores 138, shatters college basketball scoring record

GRINNEL, Iowa (WTVR) -- Jack Taylor, of Grinnel College in Iowa, dropped 138 points in an NCAA Division III win Tuesday night. By doing so, he set a college basketball scoring record. The previous NCAA single game scoring record was 113 points.

Taylor's record-setting night helped lead Grinell to a 179-104 win over Faith Baptist Bible.

Taylor, a sophomore guard, put up 108 shots and made 52 of them. Over half of the shots made were from behind the three point line. He was 27 for 71 when shooting three pointers.

Overall, Taylor shot 48 percent from the floor.
