PETERSBURG, Va. (WTVR) - Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a Monday morning house fire in Petersburg. Capt. Mike Ferguson said when crews arrived at the home along the 1500 block of West Lane, flames were shooting out the home's windows.

Seven people lived in the home, but only one person was home at the time, Ferguson said. No one was hurt in the fire.

Fire crews were called to the home around 8:30 a.m. Monday.

The Red Cross is helping the fire victims, because the home has been deemed unlivable.
