RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Varina kept their hopes of winning the Capital District and a trip to the Division 6 playoffs alive with a 21-20 comeback win over Hanover.
Quarterback Brandon Wood threw the game winning touchdown to Donovan Dowling with 14 seconds to remain undefeated in the district.
Hanover was led by quarterback Sam Rogers, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown and threw for another 153 yards and a score.
With the win, Varina and Highland Springs will face each other in the regular season finale with the Capital District title and the automatic bid to the Division 6 playoffs on the line.
