MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (WTVR) - Lee-Davis took one more step towards a second straight Division 5 playoff spot with a 47-24 win over Armstrong in Week 9.
Chris Simpson had 251 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns while DeShaun Rogers added another 72 yards rushing and two TDs. Rogers also had an 85 yard kick return for a third touchdown.
Armstrong quarterback Kevon Cooley rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns. He completed 5 of 17 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
With the win, Lee-Davis is now 6-3 overall. Before week 9's games, they were rated third in Division 5 VHSL power ratings, but both teams ahead of them, Hanover and Hopewell lost which should improve the Confederates standing heading into next week's game with Atlee.
