DELTAVILLE, Va. (WTVR) - Hurricane Sandy is slamming the Virginia coast.

Deltaville in Middlesex County is being particularly hard hit.

In fact, CBS 6 News' Tracy Sears said winds were gusting up to 50 mph Monday afternoon. Waves were spotted around six feet high slamming up against the shore.

Winds and storm surge are expected to only get worse as the night progresses.

In fact, winds could gust up to 70 mph overnight. At that point, emergency crews cannot be on the road and bridges and overpasses would be shutdown.

Here are some more videos Tracy sent back from Deltaville.
