New restaurant to replace old Cafe Diem

(WTVR) – Just one week ago we told you Cafe Diem in Richmond is closing its doors.

Today we have learned information on the new restaurant that will take over the space.

Dave Bender, the owner of Caliente, and Sean McClain, the owner of Banditos, are partnering to turn the space into an upscale American spot called The Viceroy.

That’s according to the company Bandazian and Holden who handled the deal.

The spot is expected to get major renovations, so a new opening date has not been determined.
