A cold front will sweep across Virginia on Monday. Ahead of the front, warm temperatures along with an increase in humidity will be in place much of the day. Breaks in the clouds with some sunshine will allow the atmosphere to become a bit unstable during the afternoon.
As storms track through central and eastern Virginia during the afternoon, a few isolated storms may produce strong wind gusts. This chance for severe weather is conditional upon how much sun breaks through ahead of the front. The severe potential across western Virginia is fairly low due to more cloudiness in the morning.
With the increase in humidity, and shower or thunderstorm that develops will produce some heavy downpours.
