ATLEE, Va. (WTVR) - Third ranked Varina had the best offensive night in school history, rolling up 680 total yards in their 56-21 win at Atlee.
The Blue Devils rushed for 554 yards, 209 coming from quarterback Brandon Wood. Herb Anderson added another 113 on the ground and two touchdowns as Varina blew out the Raiders after leading by only 7 at halftime.
Wood had TD runs of 60, 3 and 64 yards while P.T. Dixon had two rushing scores of his own. The Blue Devils improve to 5-1 overall, and 3-0 in the Capital District.
Atlee was without the region's leading rusher Morris Jackson. They were led by Laumon Dandrige who had 35 carries for 149 yards and two touchdowns. The Raiders fall to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Capital.
