Severe t-storm watch for northern VA until midnight

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Culpeper, King George, Orange, Spotsylvania and Stafford counties until midnight.

Unstable air across northern & northwestern Virginia has been causing some scattered strong to severe storms from late afternoon into early evening.  Repeated storms have hit Rockingham, Page & Shenandoah counties.  Hail the size of ping-pong balls has been reported with some of the severe storms.

The threat of strong to severe storms will continue across our northern counties the rest of the evening.  Isolated storms may produce large hail & strong wind gusts.
