Man charged in weekend Chesterfield stabbing

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Police have charged a man in connection to a  to a domestic stabbing last Saturday in Chesterfield.

Police said authorities were called to a house in the 4900 block of Brickhaven Drive on  Sept. 15 around 4:30 a.m.

Authorities found a woman suffering from knife wounds. Officers also located a man exiting the residence who also had knife wounds. 

Both were taken to VCU Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Officials said both are expected to recover.

Police said Wednesday that the man, 37-year-old Spencer L. Ford Jr., of the 4900 block of Brickhaven Drive, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding in relation to the incident.

Police said the incident was a domestic-related attempt at murder-suicide.
