This is an archived article and the information in the article may be outdated. Please look at the time stamp on the story to see when it was last updated.

A strong cold front will pass through the region late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening.  Ahead of the front, it will turn warm and humid with highs in the low and mid 80s.

Storms will begin across western Virginia in the late morning or early afternoon, and then spread across the rest of the state.  The storms should clear extreme southeastern Virginia by around midnight.  A few of the thunderstorms may become severe with strong wind gusts.

We will continue to update the severe risk over the next 48 hours.
