Police investigate suspicious death in city’s East End

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)—Richmond Police have opened an investigation after they discovered a dead body in the city’s East End.

Gene Lepley, Richmond Police Department spokesperson, said the death is being investigated under suspicious circumstances. Lepley said the death occurred in the 1200 block of North 38th Street, in Richmond’s East End.

Lepley said that police were contacted about 4:25 this afternoon.  He said police found one person dead inside a home in the Oakwood neighborhood. 

CBS 6 is on the scene. An eyewitness said that she heard a fight between two people prior to the death.
