New poll puts Obama ahead of Romney, Kaine and Allen tied

(WTVR) – A poll out Thursday morning shows President Barack Obama leading Mitt Romney in three swing states, including Virginia.

The Wall Street Journal poll shows Obama leading Romney in Virginia by five points.  Voters in the Commonwealth favor Obama to Romney 49 to 44 percent.

The other swing states Obama has similar leads in are Florida and Ohio.

The poll also found in the U.S. Senate race Tim Kaine and George Allen are in a dead heat, both polling at 46 percent.

The polls were conducted between September ninth and eleventh.

The margin of error is just over three point one.
