An Evening of Caribbean Culture Celebrating Jamaica’s 50th Independence

RICHMOND, Va (WTVR)

It's an exciting time for Jamaicans, the country is celebrating its 50th Anniversary of Independence and here in Richmond, organizers are planning a big celebration, "An Evening of Caribbean Culture" Sunday, September 16, from 4 -8pm at The Gottwald Playhouse at Richmond Center Stage.

Performers include Three generations of Jamaican Tenors, DEM 3 Jamaican Tenors, Reggae/performance/Dub Poetry Malachi Smith, Jamaican folk dancers, Caribbean foods and music and The appearance of the Ambassador of Jamaica, His Excellency Stephen Vasciannie. The event is hosted by The Virginia Caribbean Education Exchange Foundation and co-sponsored by Ambassador Vasciannie and Dr. Keith T. Miller, Virginia State University and Alpha Graphics.
