Security Scare at Langley Air Force Base
Virginia Beach (WTVR) – A security scare forces a Virginia military base to go on lockdown on the same day as the eleventh anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks.
A military spokesperson at Langley Air Force Base says a bomb sniffing dog alerted them to something suspicious in a car at one of the base’s gates Tuesday afternoon. The entrance was shut down and nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.
The driver of the car was also detained and was later released.
It’s unclear at this point if any explosives were found.
