Kanawha Co. WV, (WTVR) — A disease outbreak that began in Yosemite National Park has claimed a life in West Virginia.

The rare Hantavirus spread to visitors at the Curry Village camping area after an infection broke out this summer. Eight people across the nation who traveled to the park were infected.

The virus is often found in the excrement of rodents. Symptoms of the disease often include flu like symptoms, such as a fever, chills and muscle aches.

Doctors urge you to seek medical attention if you have traveled to Yosemite National Park and are feeling sick.
