STUDY: Smoking during pregnancy could impact child’s weight later on
(WTVR)- A new study may have discovered the answer as to why mothers who smoke during pregnancy have a higher risk of having overweight children.
A report released by Archives of General Psychiatry studied 378 teenagers. They found those who were exposed to smoke before birth had a stronger desire for fatty foods.
Researchers believe cigarettes may damage a part of the brain that regulates appetite.
