LITTLE COMPTON, RI (WBZ) – An East Coast beach is closed Saturday after a Great White shark washed ashore.
WBZ-TV reports the shark washed up on the beach between Westport, Mass. and Little Compton, Rhode Island Saturday morning.
A man fishing spotted the gruesome scene in the surf and called police. He said he used his fishing pole to measure the dead shark, which came in around 13 feet.
The beach was closed as marine officials dissected the shark.
WBZ-TV’s Bree Sison offered up photos from the beach where the shark washed ashore.
