Va. power outages climb into thousands

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)—Afternoon Wednesday storms are knocking out power to thousands in Virginia.

In the Greater Richmond area, as of 4:00 p.m., there are 2,525 power outages. In Southeastern Virginia, there are more than 2,000 reported. Click here for updated Dominion outage numbers.

There are reports of thunderstorm damage in Petersburg, with limbs down, pea-size hail and estimated 30 m.p.h. wind damage. A funnel cloud was spotted by the public at Oak Hill estates.
