Dinwiddie County, VA (WTVR) – Amazon has almost finished hiring workers for its new distribution centers in Chesterfield and Dinwiddie Counties.
Renee Chapline with the Virginia Gateway Region, an economic development organization for the Tri-Cities, says Amazon was impressed by how many qualified applicants applied for those jobs. That could attract even more business to the area in the future.
“That’s what companies are looking for. They want to locate in areas where they can make money, be profitable and find the workforce they need,” says Chapline.
In all, about 1400 positions are being filled for those two Amazon distribution centers. Both are expected to open in the fall.
