G-O-P presidential candidate Mitt Romney has picked up an endorsement that just might "make his day."

At a fundraiser in Idaho, Clint Eastwood said he's backing the former Massachusetts governor -- but not without some kidding around first.

REPORTER: "We are just kind of curious why you decided to endorse the governor?"
EASTWOOD: "I haven't endorsed the governor.  Oh yeah, no, I'm just kidding."
(laughter)
EASTWOOD: "I just -- because I think the country needs a boost somewhere."

Eastwood came under fire from some Republicans earlier this year, when he appeared in a Chrysler ad during the Super Bowl that many said echoed President Obama's campaign message.
