Washington, D.C. (WTVR) – Senator Jim Webb has introduced a proposal to raise the Federal Minimum Wage.
If passed, the measure would raise the Federal Minimum Wage from $7.20 an hour to $9.80. The increase would be phased in over the next two years.
Senator Webb wants to raise the rate to keep up with the cost of living.
Currently, 3.8 million U.S. workers earn wages at or below the federal minimum wage.
