A warm front pushed north of the area Saturday morning, allowing a much more humid air mass to work into the region. As thunderstorms developed Saturday afternoon, slow-moving storms took advantage of the high humidity and dumped torrential downpours in some areas.
Thunderstorms will fade Saturday evening and Saturday night, but the day’s activity has kept a flash flood watch in effect for areas well northwest of the Richmond metro area.
