RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The City of Richmond is opening up cooling shelters this weekend. With severe weather that knocked out power for thousands combined with triple digit temperatures — the shelters are a must.
There are two locations open through Monday, July 2.
- Southside Community Services Center, 4100 Hull St. Road
- Department of Social Services, 900 East Marshall Street
Bottled water will be available at the shelter, but you must bring your own food. Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed.
