COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WTVR) - Mark Pond, with Colonial Plumbing and Heating, spoke to CBS 6 senior reporter Wayne Covil about how to keep your air conditioner running during a heatwave.

Mark's Tips

  • Clean air filters.
  • Set thermostat at 75 or 76.
  • Clear area around the unit to ensure air flow.
  • Use a blower to clean the coils (from the outside only) since they often get covered with grass clippings.
  • Schedule regular check-ups for your unit.
