CULPEPER, Va. (WTVR) - The Culpeper officer charged with killing a Sunday School teacher has been fired from the police force.

Officials with the Culpeper Police Department said their internal investigation into the shooting death of 54-year-old Patricia Cook has been completed.

As a result, officer Daniel Harmon-Wright has been terminated.

No other details were released about the investigation.

Police said Harmon-Wright shot at Cook seven times in a church parking lot in February.

Harmon-Wright said he was talking with Cook, who was inside her Jeep, when she took off and dragged him. However, an eyewitness said the officer was not dragged by the vehicle.
