Rescued from the junkyard, Chesterfield class ring returned to owner
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A high school class ring lost in Virginia Beach seven years ago is now back on the finger of its Chesterfield owner.
Thomas Dale grad Katie Jaschen Metzinger lost the Class of 2005 ring while at the beach with friends shortly after graduation.
Last week a man named Ed Bittner found the ring while looking for auto parts at a Virginia Beach junkyard.
Using Facebook, Bittner’s daughter tracked down Chesterfield County Public Schools, who in turn tracked down Katie.
“I’m very excited to get my ring back,” she said in a press release. “The Bittners were so thoughtful to take the time and go out of their way to find me.”
