RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Virginia voters will no longer be able to head to the polls to choose the next Republican candidate for governor.
The Republican Party of Virginia voted Friday to pick their party’s nominees for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general by a convention, instead of a statewide primary.
Many political experts believe that benefits Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, instead fellow candidate for governor, Lt. Governor Bill Bolling. Those experts said more conservative voters tend to turn out for the state convention.
