RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Governor Bob McDonnell leaves on Monday for a nine-day trade mission to Europe. The Washington Post says the trip will cost $164,000.
He will be stopping Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain and Sweden to meet with automotive and pharmaceutical companies.
He will also be talking about wine and agriculture and interview with the Travel Channel to promote tourism in Virginia.
McDonnell told the Washington Post that it is important in today's economy for the state to establish connections with businesses across the world.
This will be McDonnell's sixth overseas trade mission. Previous trips have resulted in several business deals and export agreements.
