A prisoner who was mistakenly released from a local jail has been captured, deep in the heart of Texas.

United States Marshals say Carter Tillery was caught shortly after noon today in Houston.

The 31-year-old had been missing for nearly two weeks, after a deputy accidentally released him from the Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville.

At the time, he was serving a thirty-year sentence for armed robbery.
