(WTVR) - A video is making the rounds online after a woman survived a harrowing ordeal as she celebrated her 80th birthday.
The video is from last year, but was just posted last Thursday.
Laverne Everett said she wanted to go skydiving for her birthday, but admitted that right before the big jump, her bad knees gave out.
As a result, video posted online shows her instructor giving her a shove that forces Everett to tumble out of the plane -- and slip out of her harness!
"The upper harness came off, you know just slipped down. It was just the lower harness is all I had," said Everett. "I didn't know anything -- only to hold on -- that's all."
In fact, Everett said she didn't even know anything was wrong, since her shirt was covering her face during much of the fall.
However, aside from a few bruises from the bumpy landing, Everett was ok. And she said the mishap won't stop her from her next big adventure.
In fact, Everett plans to celebrate her next birthday by riding in a race car.
The FAA is now investigating what may have gone wrong with the dive.
