HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)- It took the Henrico Fire Department 50 minutes to extinguish a fire in a vacant home early Sunday morning.
HFD spokesman Jim Mellon tells CBS 6 the call came in at 3:16 a.m. from a nearby 7-11 store for a fire in a home located at 10 Beulah Rd. Upon arrival, fire fighters were faced with flames spouting over 30 ft. into the air.
Fire fighters took an aggressive approach and made entry into the structure quickly, and were able to confirm their belief that the house was indeed vacant. Calls to a family member later revealed that the house was under renovation.
The entire second floor of the home is likely a total loss, according to investigators. No one was injured, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
