Logging truck accident sends 2 to hospital, closes road

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Two people were taken to VCU Medical Center following an accident Thursday morning, according to Hanover County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Chris Whitley.

Whitley said the accident, which involved a logging truck and another vehicle, occurred near the intersection of Mountain and Hatch Thompson Roads. 

One of the people involved in the accident had to be flown via Med Flight to the hospital.

The logging truck lost its load and a section of Route 33 is now closed for clean-up.

The accident remains under investigation.
