RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Summer is right around the corner and the Virginia Tourism Corporation is reminding us that you don't have to leave Virginia to have some fun.

Richard Lewis with Virginia Tourism says now is the perfect time to get out and see the Commonwealth, "Here in Virginia we're in a place where people come from all over the world to enjoy it, it's right in our own backyards."

Lewis notes that those living in Central Virginia are within a days drive of some of the top attractions in the United States. You can find beaches, history, shopping, and of course a plethora of parks all within the states borders.
