SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) - Just days after a self-described superhero was arrested and charged with assault in Michigan, another so-called caped crusader is coming forward.

A woman called "Asthma Warrior" told WNEM-TV that her job is to be the eyes and ears of her community.

The 31-year-old mid-Michigan woman, who did not want to reveal her identity, said that she does not let the fact that she has asthma stop her from protecting and serving.

"I don't try to get involved... I just try to help when I think I'm needed," said the woman, known for roaming the gritty streets of Saginaw in an effort to cut down on crime – and help her fellow citizens.

The number of these self-proclaimed superheroes is a bit surprising.

Several websites for real life superheroes have lists for of the caped-crusaders broken down by country, state and region.
