PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - The Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police are investigating a shooting that happened in Prospect early Saturday morning.

Lt. Sonya Walker with the Prince Edward Sheriff's Dept. said  27-year-old Thomas Vaughan Scott was the victim of the shooting, but no information on his condition was available.

CBS 6 News' Sandra Jones spoke with people Saturday who say they know Scott.

"I saw him about a week and a half ago in Walmart,” said Perry Tannery, who says he has known Scott for ten years.  "He seemed pretty happy. He was walking with his girlfriend and his kids."
