RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--Personal property taxes were originally due May 1, but taxpayers have been granted an extension.

City taxpayers will now have until June 1, because the bills were mistakenly sent out late.

Most homeowners received them last week, giving them only 2 weeks to pay.

The city said the delay stems from computer issue.

The tax extension will be approved at a special city council meeting next week.
