The high at Richmond International Airport Wednesday afternoon hit 86°, just shy of the record high of 87°, which was set just last year.  New record highs were achieved at Farmville (old record: 87°) and Williamsburg (old record: 85°).

A cold front passing through the area will bring much cooler weather for Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low/mid 60s.  Normal high for this point in April is 67°.

After a chilly (and possibly frosty) start Saturday morning, highs will rebound into the mid/upper 60s Saturday afternoon, and will surpass 70° on Sunday.

A series of cold fronts between Monday and Wednesday will bring progressively cooler air next week.  Highs by Wednesday and Thursday may struggle to even hit 60°.

However, the extended computer models are showing another warming trend for the end of next week into the following week.
