OAKLAND, Ca. (CBSDC) - A former student of a private school in California who opened fire on former classmates Monday is reportedly from the state of Virginia.

43-year old One Goh, walked onto the Oikos University campus, a small religious college in Oakland, California from which he’d recently been suspended, then opened fire on his fellow students.

Police say he went on a shooting spree that left seven people dead and three more wounded, in a nightmare that police Chief Howard Jordan called an “extremely chaotic scene.”

He told Good Morning America the man was “upset with the administration of the school” and he had been “mistreated” by the school’s students.

Police first received a report at 10:33 a.m. that a woman was laying on the ground bleeding. Apparently she had been shot by Goh, a South Korean national who was a former nursing student at the school.

Oikos is a small religious school that most commonly serves the Korean community in the arts of theology and Asian medicine.

There were about 35 people in the school at the time of first shots being fired, at which point, Chief Jordan said, “Potential victims remained inside the building either trapped by a locked door which officers were unable to open,” or were unable to flee due to injury, he continued.

Goh was eventually apprehended by police an hour after the horrific incident at a Safeway, sometime after he told a guard to contact the police because he had just shot people.

One Goh also contacted his father after the incident to tell him what he had done, at which point Chief Jordan says his father contacted authorities.

Fox News reports that Goh was in Virginia as recently as last year to attend his brother’s funeral in Centreville. His brother was on active duty in the U.S. Army when he was killed in a car accident in March of 2011.
